Re: Bug when uninstalling one of multiple installations

The solution was a combination of using the cleanup wizard, creating custom delete rules, and having our build process auto-replace some of the AIP contents based on the build version. Thanks!

Re: Bug when uninstalling one of multiple installations

The shortcuts are different. For example, one would be called Product 1.2 and the other Product 1.3. And again, cleanup works fine if you don't do side-by-side install. Suggestions?

Bug when uninstalling one of multiple installations

When I install version X, then uninstall, everything gets cleaned up nicely. But when I install version X, the install version Y side by side, then uninstall version X, the start menu shortcuts linger around and must be manually deleted. Is this a known bug?

Running multiple versions of software concurrently

I am attempting to figure out how to do what AdvancedInstaller has done with their own installer. That is, if the user has already installed v3.1.1 and is attempting to install v3.4.3, I want a screen in the installer to come up and ask what the user wants to do: Remove the previous version and repl...

Re: Problem with boilerplate upgrade configuration

Also, our version number format has changed once more to be of the form 0.2.1.201006220927. Can we have this fourth place and if so, what is the maximum we can have for the last field with the current limitation? Note that lack of support of a fourth place we can work around - not being able to have...

Re: Problem with boilerplate upgrade configuration

Where does this limitation stem from? Is there a way to remove this limitation? (the version number, as verbose as it is, contains quite useful information and we'd very much prefer not to truncate it)

Re: Problem with boilerplate upgrade configuration

So after further review of the documentation, it looks like AdvInst looks at the production version, so looks like I may have uncovered a bug... So, here's what's different between the old version's AIP and the new version's AIP. NOTHING has changed other than the below. 1) Production version change...

Problem with boilerplate upgrade configuration

How does AdvancedInstaller determine whether a currently-installed version is older or newer? I've created an .aip file with "Automatically upgrade older product versions" and "Uninstall old version first and then install new version" and I'm getting strange behavior. AdvancedIns...

Re: JNI Exception: Failed to create the Java VM

Attempting to launch the JVM with 32MB increments less each time is a great idea. It would help us out too. Has this already been done by any chance?

Re: Support for generating MSI installers from linux

I am also looking into this product for my company. Everything is perfect - except the lack of a Linux command line, which is critical since all of our build servers are Linux. Without a Linux command line, we have no way to automate building of the installers or to provide continuous integration fo...
