Re: IIS ApplicationPool Issue on product update

Hi Bogdan, your IIS-Support was the main reason why we bought Advanced-Installer. The BrowseIIS function was really nice for us because we didn't have to take care of all IIS-Versions. As you already have the DeleteIISObject function internal, do you see any chance that in a future release, the same...

Re: Problem with a custom property

Hi Nils,

just try to rename your property IMAGEPACK (uppercase) and I think your problem should be solved.

Best regards,

Re: IIS ApplicationPool Issue on product update

Hi Bogdan, usíng your tip everything worked fine, except the following scenario: (it can be reproduced with a little test project). I've installed the version 1.0 of our app. If I test at thios point the deinstallation the IIS-Objects are correctly removed. I define the version 2.0 as a major upgrad...

Re: Usage of the Instance Feature without UI

Hi Mihai, Thank you for your link. ...The bootstrapper, which seems to manage the multiple instances, shows an ui to ask the user which instance he wants to work with. Our problem is, that we have found no way to skip this dialog and to choose the Instance by a commandline parameter. The instancing ...

Re: Necessity to change instances product code by major upgr

Hi Mihai, I see that this is what's going on. When selecting major upgrade after changing the version in a package with multiple instances, each instance will not have its product code changed. This means each instance will have a minor upgrade applied in the new version: But is it enough to apply a...

Necessity to change instances product code by major upgrade.

Hi, I have a question regarding the necessity to change the product code of the instances in the case of a major upgrade package. As I see right now, when the product-version is changed, your application will ask if this change is going to be a “major upgrade” or a just a patch. update_method.PNG If...

Re: Usage of the Instance Feature without UI

Hi Mihai, I found this older post from us from the last year but I couldn't find any documentation which shows the command lines options for multiple instances. No, actually the command lines for Multiple Instances will be available in the 8.4 release Were these improvements implemented? And if so c...

Re: Upgrading multiple instance installations problem

Hi Mihai, thank you very much! There is one more point which could be improved in this scenario. Imagine one user has installed the default instance of the version 1.0. (important! - "Allow side by side installs of different product versions" option is activated, multiple instances are con...

Re: Problem Upgrading Multiple Instance Installs

Hi Mihai, as attachment is my little test project. Nothing special, "Allow side by side installs of different product versions" option is activated and multiple instances are configured. The version 1.0 installs only a file test1.txt. I've built the setup and installed the default instance...

Re: Application Versions Problem

Hi Mihai, Thank you very much for your answer! Unfortunatelly the previous version (1.0) was delivered without the "Allow side by side installs of different product versions" option. Could I manage somehow now to deliver the version (2.0) with the "Allow side by side installs of diffe...

Re: Problem Upgrading Multiple Instance Installs

Hi,

I've checked one more time my test-project and seems that only the installation of new instances is done properly.
Existing instances are not correctly upgraded. So my first question is clear, this scenario is still not supported.

Thank you very much,

Application Versions Problem

Hi, The version 1.0 of our setup used the following “Upgrades->Application Versions”-Setting: “Automatically upgrade older product versions”. Several of our customers used already this setup and installed our application. Next week, we’ll release the version 2.0 of the product and we’d like to offer...

Re: Problem Upgrading Multiple Instance Installs

Hi Mihai, From what I know in your other posts, you are authoring a major upgrade scenario( ProductCode changed between versions ). that's true, but there seems to be a problem there (http://www.advancedinstaller.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=20507#p50427) and that's why I was looking what else...
