Re: Folder Permissions additive; Localized group name

hi

It sounds to me like the Permission you are adding uses the LockPermissions table.

You may be better off creating a custom action which launches cacls or xcacls/icalcs or something similar.

Perhaps this question should be asked somewhere else in forums?

Cheers

Repackager not catpuring reg key values correctly

Hi I've noticed that Advanced Installer is adding an additional \ onto the end of some directory paths that are in the registry. This is causing the application I'm repackaging to fail. For example it is doing the following HKLM\Software\FOLDERNAME\DIRECTORIES\DirectoryPATH with a value of C:\Progra...

Importing MSIs fails on Custom Action Table

Hi

I've noticed with Advanced Installer 8.8 I've tried to import several MSIs. These error out at the Custom Action Table.

One of the MSIs I have been able to import previously (with version 8.6) now they seem to fail. Has anyone else had these types of problems?

Thanks

Re: App-V Server URL option

Hi Bogdan Basically with the Sequencer we get .OSD file output like this "RTSPS://%SFT_SOFTGRIDSERVER%:322/<PACKAGEFOLDERNAME>/<PACKAGESFTNAME.SFT>" With Advanced Installer we get "RTSPS://%SFT_SOFTGRIDSERVER%:322/Folder Name/<PACKAGEFOLDERNAME>/<PACKAGESFTNAME.SFT>" I know i cou...

App-V Server URL option

Hi

Is it possible for the Path On Server Field (located in App-V Build Server URL) to have the option to be left blank?

Currently it is forcing me to input a path whereas all packages sequenced with Microsoft Sequencer allow this value to be left blank.

thanks

Re: Organisation tab/Repackager Improvements

Hi Cosmin, Currently, our business directive is where possible all applications should be built as App-V packages. The other criteria is that these applications should be Bundled. So with Microsoft Sequencer (I think we are using 4.6 SP1) we create the App-V Sequence by putting all prereqs and the m...

Organisation tab/Repackager Improvements

Hi With Repackager, it would be great if the msgbox that pops once the first setup.exe (or msi, whatever you've asked to capture) has run could include some info saying something like "don't close this window if you have further products to include in the capture". By that I mean there is ...

Re: Multiple Installs (pre reqs) within App-V Build

Hi Bogdan, Thanks for the info. Early this morning I did manage to create an App-V build by importing all prereq MSI's, however whilst it installed it failed to launch correctly. However this could well be because it is the trial version so it won't launch the application. Error is: Unable to initia...

Re: App-V Build inlcuding prerequisite applications

It seems I can .aip files to the package I'm working on and these will be included in the App-V build.

I'll have to do a bit of testing as from my experience the ordering of file installations can be important with App-V.

Cheers

App-V Build inlcuding prerequisite applications

Hi all, apologies if Advanced Installer can already perform this task, I've only quickly skimmed through the tutorial on creating app-v apps from MSIs. With minimal effort I could create an app-v package, much easier than using the MS sequencer. Currently we have a large MSI library and are looking ...
