Re: Help,Write configuration text encryption

Hi, I added this feature on our TODO list and it will be available in a future version. Thank you for your suggestion. In the meantime, a solution is to use a custom action . It will need to read installer properties, encrypt their values and update them so they can be used by the installer. Regards...

Re: Multiple Builds with Different Upgrade Codes

Hi, Please note that simply changing the UpgradeCode for each build isn't enough. Each component should also have a different GUID, the install paths should be unique, the registry locations should also be unique etc. Otherwise the packages will conflict. The correct approach is to create a custom t...

Re: Question regarding Enterprise functionality

Hi, Advanced Installer doesn't have a PostgreSQL predefined prerequisite. However, you can try installing it using a post-install prerequisite or a custom action . The main problem is that PostgreSQL uses an EXE bootstrapper which launches the main installer and then terminates. So your main install...

Re: Registry key launch condition

Hi,

This can easily be done by using a registry search. After creating the search, you can use its property as a custom launch condition.

Re: Suggestions for predefined prerequisites

Hi, SQL Server 2008 R2 Express SP2 would be nice. ' I added it on our TODO list and it will be available in a future version. Thank you for your suggestion. Also, separate 32/64-bit installers for the SQL Server Native Clients are necessary. We will consider adding separate prerequisites in a future...

Re: Command line building of AIP into MSI

Hi,

Advanced Installer already has a command line interface which support this. Starting with the next version (9.6), it will also support creating new projects from the command line.

Re: Automatically download and install flash before installa

Hi,

Adobe Flash Player has frequent releases. So by the time we release an Advanced Installer version, the predefined prerequisite would already be outdated. We recommend creating your own custom prerequisite with a fixed Flash Player version.

Re: Signing with different Descriptions

Hi,

Unfortunately this feature didn't have many requests, so we worked on more popular features. However, it's still on our list and it will be available in the future.

Re: Useful to have option to get Product Version from main .

Hi,
Is it means that in addition to $1000 we must create our own AIP patcher?
No. This feature is currently not supported officially. It is on our TODO list and it will be available in a future version.

Hi,

No, it can be enabled only by editing the .AIP (project) file.

Re: Useful to have option to get Product Version from main .

Hi,

The current version supports this internally, but it doesn't have an UI for it yet. If you want, I can enable it in your project. Simply send your .AIP (project) file to support at advancedinstaller dot com and mention the file from which you want to retrieve the version.

Re: MSI uninstall doesn't remove files

Hi Phil, The problem you are encountering is caused by the installation type in Install Parameters page. It's per-user only and your package is installed in a per-machine location which requires Administrator privileges (Program Files). You did enable the "Run as administrator" option, but...
