List References

When trying to delete or replace files, sometimes it is impossible because it is referenced from somewhere else. The trouble is, the error message doesn't say where. This information would be very helpful when a file should be updated or deleted.

.Net New Features

I saw in the latest update you have new features for .net. For example, to be able to precompile on install to make them run faster. I've looked in the manual and through the UI, but can't find them. Where should I look?

Patch Creation Enterprise Only?

I could swear before the last update I could make a patch with Pro edition. Now I get a warning about it being a demo feature that will expire in fifteen days. Has this feature been moved up?

Thank you, I was using the version number of the msi and not the application's .exe. Problem solved.

Auto Updater Version Check

Does the auto updater check the version that is set in Product Details, or the version of the assembly?

I have a problem with an error message after successful updates and the next time the updater is run, it still shows the file checked for download. I thought perhaps this might be the cause.

It worked after checking "Include CAB File into the MSI Package." It seems that is the way to do it when using the auto-updater. However, although it works successfully, after installation the auto-updater window shows an error. Why is that, and how can I prevent it? The application seems ...

Installing Updates

After Version 1 updates won't install. I get an error saying "Source file not found: c:/.../disk1.cab. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it. The installation then terminates. This is from 1.0.0 to any higher version created with AI. EDIT>>> Nevermind, the cab file shows with a...

Auto-Updater Configuration

When I try to use the auto-update feature I get the following error when connecting to the server: Invalid updates configuration file. The first line of the .INI file should be ";aiu;" I created the aiu file with an Updates Configuration project. The resulting .aiu file looks like this: ;a...

Thank you Denis.

One thing that I think may be a bug. The file generated says, "This installer database ....to install <product name>. "

I have got a product name inserted on the Product Details page.

Thanks again Ionut, I was able to get it working after that explanatoin. One last question. There are three files generated at compile time: The msi, an .exe and a text file. Do all three need to be distributed? I tried deleting the .exe and .txt and the msi still ran on my machine, so I am uncertai...

Took a while to get back to this. Thank you very much for that explanation. I thought perhaps there was a standard thing to check for. I am having a bit of trouble working out what to do with the returned value. It seems to return both true and false so far, and it looks like once that is sorted out...

Search Feature -What to Search for

Can you use the search feature to find out if a minimum application is already installed on the target machine? In my case, I'd like to find out if the target computer has at least DirectX8 and SAPI 5.1. How is this done? (I can see that there are lots of options for searching, but I don't know what...

Optional ReadMe Dialogue -Can't Find File

I am not sure if it is something I am doing, because the manual is a bit vague about this, but the rtf file that I select for the ReadMe cannot be found at build time: Building package (en): C:\Documents and Settings\AR\My Documents\Installers\SpeechEnablePC.msi Creating CAB file(s)... done. Creatin...
