Re: AI_SetLogOnAsService Fails silent install

I dont really have time, i just wanted you to know. Like I said I have a workaround, just condition the custom action in the table editor so it doesn't run when it shouldnt and everything works perfectly.

AI_SetLogOnAsService Fails silent install

Hello, I have come accross a problem where the AI_SetLogOnAsService custom action causes silent installations to fail. The scenario: We have an installation package with multiple builds. Some of these builds install a service and possibly override the service account under which the service will run...

Re: java stream redirection - append to logs

Any news on this feature request? Or better yet, is there a way to cause the stream redirection to be a dynamically assigned file name that, say, includes the time in milliseconds when the exe was launched each time? I really dont like my logs being overwritten...

Re: Public Properties suddenly not being passed on

No worries, I restored to the previous backup again. This time when changing the Package Type, on the last page of the wizard, I changed the default option "Please duff up my Organisation" to instead be "Please leave my lovely complicated Organisation alone" which properly config...

Re: Public Properties suddenly not being passed on

Ok so I started from a AIP where I had not yet changed the PackageType and I suspect that problems I have been having were being caused by the Wizard that is fired during the switch to Mixed 32/64... I think it didnt run correctly/completly in the older version (9.7) of Advanced Installer.... But no...

Public Properties suddenly not being passed on

Hello, my current problem is that my public properties that I have set (by custom action during the UI portion) are no longer being pulled through to the actual install phase. Background: I had an installation package that I built several years ago for our product and it has been working great but I...

Re: Search Registry does not return Raw Value

Hello, ok that problem I figured out - the UI was not actually changing the Package Type. I have lots of builds and it had something to do with that. I just tried and tried again and eventually it changed them all to the correct PackageType... But now I have another problem and it is driving me nuts...

Re: Norton 360 detects Advance Installer as threat

Thanks for the reply Daniel, unfortunately although similar the symptoms are not exactly the same. In my case the the problem occurs as soon as the build process produces the .exe (single exe with resources inside) and just prior to having some the Vista UAC flag set. The detected virus is also a su...

Re: Norton 360 detects Advance Installer as threat

Hmm, I also experience this with Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1. The problem seems to have started after I updated from Advanced Installer 9.3 to the latest version, and it doesn't happen every time (or least not on every build.) The problem presents as an error during the build process (about th...

Re: Named instances (like in MS SQL Server installator)

Hello, do you have any idea when this will be implemented or if it ever will? Multiple instances don't really help if the user cannot name them at install time.

Re: Write INI files during Rollback

Hello Bogdan, that is exactly what I want; so that when the user attempts to reinstall I can pick up their previous settings and re-use them.

Is there any way that I can call the standard action that writes the ini files during the rollback?
