AI running process on 64 bit platform

Postby autoform » Fri May 11, 2012 10:50 am

Hi,

We have created two separate installer for 64 bit and 32 bit platforms for our product.

However, we have noticed that on 64 bit platform, the 64 bit installer process itself is running as 32 bit process.

Can you confirm if this is how it should be or it is an error on our side and AI project need to be configured correctly?

Regards,
Mahua

Hello and welcome to Advanced Installer forums,

This is a normal behavior. You don't have to worry about this.

If you enabled the "Create EXE setup file" option, then you should note that our bootstrapper is a 32-bit process that handle 32-bit, 64-bit and mixed 32/64-bit package installation.

If your application package is created as a .msi file, then this is a normal Windows Installer behavior. Windows Installer handle 64-bit package installation through both versions, 32-bit and 64-bit, of msiexec.exe.

If you have any questions let me know.

All the best,
Daniel
