I need the user to enter a server name and a port through a dialog
and when the user press the next button (before the install sequence) i need these values to be saved locally in the registry.
This can be done by using a custom dialog with edit boxes. The properties of these edit boxes (the ones specified in the "Property Name" field of the edit box "Properties" page) will be used in the "Data" section of the "Edit Registry Entry" dialog (when you create a new registry value).
This way, when the user enters information in an edit box, the information is stored in its property. Since the "Data" section will contain the property of the edit box, the value of this property will be written in that registry value during the install.
We will consider adding this improvement in a future version of Advanced Installer. Thank you for your suggestion.
A solution would be to use the feature matrix to check which license type supports the feature you need.
