I am new to the whole installation process ,we are using Tomcat 6.0 in our application. Please let me know what are all the possible ways to install this web application.If possible can you give me the step by step instruction in installing the web application.

we tried adding the .exe of tomcat in registry ,this doesnt work.I am wondering whether can we use the custom action to run the exe file of an tomcat, is this possible? Thanks in advance.

Hi,

You can add Tomcat 6.0 as a prerequisite to your main installation package. We have a tutorial for prerequisites, please take a look:

Note that you can use as a prerequisite the Windows Service Installer version of Tomcat (the EXE which launches the Tomcat installation).

Thanks for the reply, we need to get the tomcat service to be installed by the client machine, the tomcat service is running on my machine.
we tried to install it in the service option, but that one shows error. could me please tell us the exact way of using the service option for tomcat.

Please note that you need to use the Tomcat 6.0 installation package as a Prerequisite for your main MSI package. You can download the Windows Service Installer version of Tomcat here:
http://tomcat.apache.org/download-60.cgi

we tried to install it in the service option, but that one shows error. could me please tell us the exact way of using the service option for tomcat.

Note that this is done by the Tomcat 6.0 installation package, not through Advanced Installer.
