.NET Installer Class Custom Actions

Hi,

I am evaluating Advanced Installer for complex installations and need to add .net custom actions. I have created a 'Installer' class in a dll and added it to the files/folders. I want to add a custom action for the UI but the '.Net Installer Class Action' menu item is disabled.

What am I doing wrong?

Hi,

Thank you for your interest in Advanced Installer.

Please note that .NET custom actions cannot be added under the "UI Custom actions" sequence because the file used by the custom action must be already installed on the target machine when the custom action runs.

Therefore, during an installation a .NET custom action can be run only after the "InstallFiles" standard action. However, during a maintenance operation (repair, modify or remove) you can schedule the custom action under any standard action in the "InstallUISequence" and "InstallExecuteSequence".
