Conditionally Install Based on OS?

I've got this case. I need to be able to install "gdiplus.dll" (a microsoft redistributable) on pre-XP machines (Win2k).

How could I go about making this happen?

Also, I don't really want to stick in my installer package. Could this be downloadable?

Re: Conditionally Install Based on OS?

Hi,
I need to be able to install "gdiplus.dll" (a microsoft redistributable) on pre-XP machines (Win2k).
Please note that the User Guide contains the Install resources based on the OS version how-to which may help you.
I don't really want to stick in my installer package. Could this be downloadable?
This is not supported by Windows Installer or Advanced Installer for only one file. However, it could be done if the file was in an installation package. In this case, the package would be added as a prerequisite and it will be downloaded and installed only if it is not found.
