Invalid signature on uninstall

Hi again,

I've got a second problem, which I cannot figure out:
I sign the created MSI with our company's code signing certificate (made all relevant entries in AI under the "Digital Signature" view) which works flawlessly. If I try to install the MSI, Vista asks me if I want to install the package and tells me, the digital signature is valid. So far, so good.

If I uninstall the msi however (doesn't matter if uninstall via "Uninstall programs" or via executing the MSI a second time), I get a warning about an invalid digital signature.

Can anyone tell me, what's going wrong here? I wouldn't like our customers to be scared by an "invalid signature" warning, when everything is fine...

Thanks again and regards
Frank

Re: Invalid signature on uninstall

Hi Frank,

This behavior is caused by a bug in Windows Installer. For more details please see this article:
UAC prompt from unidentified publisher appears when uninstalling MSIs on Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008

Hi Cosmin,

thanks for clarifying :-). So I'll add a little note to our documentation and point to this issue...
