How to call the installation to install a feature automatica

I create a installation with the Advanced installer.
I have added a feature (additional to the main feature). That feature is only installed when the installation finds Outlook.

So, I want to install that feature later when the user installs Outlook later.
Can I do this by starting the msiexec with certain paramters? I did not found anything about that.

thanks,
Chris

Re: How to call the installation to install a feature automatica

Hi Chris,

Unfortunately this is not supported by Windows Installer.

You can try using an advertised feature, but something must trigger the installation of the feature. For this an user or an application needs to access a file or registry entry included in the Advertised feature. Usually, an advertised shortcut is used. Perhaps the Implement self-healing into the application how-to in the User Guide can help you.
