Service Control

I'm having trouble installing a service

I get an error 1920: Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services.

I do have privileges (I can start the services in the control panel).

Where else do I look?

Re: Service Control

Hi,

Is the service installed for the local system account or for a custom user? If it's installed for a custom user, you can try the approach explained in the Install a service for a custom user how-to.

If this error is shown when installing the service under the local system account, please send us the AIP (project) file with the problem to support at advancedinstaller dot com so we can investigate it. Also, please attach a verbose log of the install process.

Re: Service Control

I emailed the files a few minutes ago but forgot to add this comment:

I have 2 of the services with quotes around the name and one without as tests.. .neither works as expected.

Thanks!

Re: Service Control

Hi Jerome,

You are encountering this behavior because the service control operations use incorrect service names (they are trying to control services which does not exist).

Please note that the control operations use the service name, not the display name of the service.

The correct service names are:
- ENetNetPageAlertService.exe
- ENetNetPostMailService.exe
- ENetNetReportsService.exe

Let me know if the problem persists when using them for the control operations.
