Hi,

Yes, the Updater uses the settings from Internet Explorer. The error 12057 indicates that revocation cannot be checked because the revocation server was offline. Usually it's encountered when the website which receives the request uses a redirection. As a temporary workaround, you can try this:
- open Internet Explorer
- use the "Tools" -> "Internet Options" menu
- go to the "Advanced" tab
- under "Security" options uncheck the "Check for publisher's certificate revocation" option

Please make sure that the URL of the updates configuration file doesn't use a redirection and that the server which hosts the file is configured correctly.

Hi Cosmin

we have tested with your specified setting in the Internet Explorer.

But we are getting same error Number 12057 with updater process.

Is that patch must have digital signed with valid certificate?

Thanks
Satya.

Hi,

No, the patch doesn't need a digital signature. Are you using URLs which have redirection? Also, can you reproduce this behavior on other machines?

Hi Cosmin,

NO we are not using redirection URLs. we can reproduce in a couple of machine which has Internet Explorer 7

If we hit the same URL in browser it opening the updater.ini with out redirection

we tried like uninstall IE 7 and install IE6 on one machine in the machine updater working fine :D

Can any one help on this issue

Thanks,
Satya.

Hi,

On the machines with the problem can you access the URL of the updates configuration file and the URL of the patch in Internet Explorer 7? If not, the problem is most likely caused by the Internet Explorer settings or by a firewall.

If you can access the URLs without any special authentication or authorization, can you please send us the following files to support at advancedinstaller dot com?
- the updates configuration file
- the INI installed with the updater EXE

These files would help us determine the cause of this behavior.
