Updater.exe Content

Hi,
Is there a way to "open" Updater.exe and get the settings it runs with.
For example, I want to know the Updates URL that it was built with...
Thanks!

Re: Updater.exe Content

Hi,

The information used by the Updater can be found in the INI installed next to it. You can open the INI with any text editor.

Thanks Cosmin.
The data in the ini file is from Updates.aip.
The data in the updater.exe is from the installer.aip

Thanks.

Re: Updater.exe Content

Hi,

Please note that the Updater executable doesn't store updates information in it. The information is stored in two files:
- an INI which is installed by the package next to the updater EXE (it contains the settings in the package project)
- an updates configuration file which is placed on a server (it contains information about the available updates)

Thanks Cosmin for your replay.
So what is the purpose of the field Updates URL in Tools-Updater?

Thanks.

Re: Updater.exe Content

Hi,

The Updates URL is the URL from where the updates configuration file can be retrieved. Please note that this is explained in this article. Also, the User Guide contains an Updater tutorial which may help you.
