Patch, installed file not found

Hi all!
I'm a new user of AI. I' created a new installer, with some folders, some enviroment variables, some registry keys. I called it setup_1.0.0. All ok!
Then I wanted to try a patch; I've done this steps:
1) changed product version from 1.0.0 to 1.0.1, and then pressed NO when the message box appeared about upgrading or patching.
2) deleted all file and folders, enviroment and registri keys and added only a text file to try the patch functions.
3) saved this project as setup_1.0.1 and then build the .msi file. All ok. If I try to install it directly after installed 1.0.0, it uninstalls 1.0.0 and the installs only the new text file. All right.
4) I created a new patch project, and like your tutorial, I selected the 1.0.1.msi as Upgraded, and 1.0.0.msi as Base target. The patch seems ok.

The problem is: when I install the setup_1.0.0, all ok. Then I install the patch, dialog boxes seem ok, no errors during the installations. BUT when I open the program folder, to search the new text file of the 1.0.1, nothing... the are only file and folders of 1.0.0, like I haven't installed the patch.

What I'm wrong? I don't understand where is the mistake... Any help?

Thank you very much in Advance... d Installer :D :P

Re: Patch, installed file not found

Hi,
deleted all file and folders, enviroment and registri keys and added only a text file to try the patch functions.
Changing package organization implies a major upgrade not a patch. Also there are some rules on patch creation that must be respected, please see:

If you encounter any problem let us know.
