Leaving registry variable alone for an upgrade

Normally the uninstall removes all the Registry entries created during the install operation. But when the uninstall is being done before an upgrade I'd like it to leave the old license variable in the Registry, so the user doesn't have to re-register the application after upgrading. I'd also like the install, when it's being done as an upgrade, to not write new, blank, license variables into the Registry. Is there a a way to make this happen?

Thanks
Steve

Re: Leaving registry variable alone for an upgrade

Hello,

You can preserve your license registry key by:
- selecting "Persistent User Data" from the 'Wizards' top menu;
- on the wizard's third page, "Registry Entries", press "Add" and select your license registry key
- press 'Next' then 'Finish'

The drop down menu from Wizards in my the top tool bar doesn't have anything about "Persistent." Searching in Help for "Persistent" doesn't show anything with "persistent." The Index in help has nothing for "persistent."
