Unable to set Vista UAC Execute Level

Hi,

I am using Advanced Installer 7.1.2 and Windows Server 2003 for my build server.

I've got this exception everytime:
[ DefaultBuild ]
Building package (en): C:\My Modules Setup.exe
Preparing files... done.
Creating CAB file(s)... done.
Creating MSI database... done.
Writing Summary Information... done.
Adding merge modules... done.
error.
Exception - Reason: Unable to set Vista UAC Execute Level. Please see if the file [C:\My Modules Setup.exe] exists and can be accessed.

Build finished because an error was encountered.
I tried to play around with the "Execution Level" from "As Invoker" to "Require Administrator" but nothing works. It would be great if you can solve this problem.

Thanks,
Faried

Hi,

We couldn't reproduce this behavior on our machines. Could you please send us the .aip file to support at advancedinstaller dot com so we can investigate it?

Re: Unable to set Vista UAC Execute Level

I also get this error all the time (not every time, however, fortunately) running 7.1.2 on XP Pro. Often I just have to rebuild my project to get it work, but I'd say 2 out of 3 tries end with that error, and my installer directory full of .tmp files.

Is there a fix for this?

Hello,

Our team has studied the problem, and a bugfix will be released with Advanced Installer 7.1.3.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Re: Unable to set Vista UAC Execute Level

I'm still getting this error with 7.1.3. It's very annoying to have it show up at the end of a 20+ minute build, and force the re-starting of it.

I can't figure out what's causing it, either. All I'm left with is a bunch of .tmp files, and no .exe file.

Re: Unable to set Vista UAC Execute Level

Hi,

We couldn't reproduce this behavior on our machines. Please follow these indications and let us know if the problem still persists.

-- delete the cache files created when building the package with an older version of AI
-- check to see if you have multiple versions of AI installed on your machine, if you do keep just the last version installed.
-- restart your computer, and try rebuilding the package after you've taken in consideration the above options.

If the problem still persists please send us your .aip file to support at advancedinstaller dot com so we can investigate it.

Regards,
Bogdan
