Import Paths from the command-line

Postby Hop » Mon Feb 15, 2010 2:43 pm

I use Path Variables to keep knowledge of my build-machine's directory structure out of my .AIP files, but I'm having a couple of issues that perhaps I just don't know how to access.
1. Is there a command-line way to load (Import) the XML path variables file?
2. If not that, than is there a way to start the Advanced Installer to manually import the file, without having to save a new project as Enterprise just the Path Variables menu option enabled?

Hi Hop,

Currently there is no way to import the file to Advanced Installer through command line.
However I have added an improvement on our TODO list. It will be available in a future version of Advanced Installer.

There is however a workaround:
- import your xml path variables file in a new project
- save the variables to the Advanced Installer folder by overwriting the default path variables file ("PathVariables.xml")

Your projects should now all have access to those variables.

Best regards,
Gabriel
