Build: "File could not be read"

Postby RedDrago » Tue Feb 21, 2012 4:27 pm

Hello,

almost every single time I try to build the setup, I get the following message:
File "...\AppData\Local\Temp\sqlE87F.tmp" could not be read.
Build finished because an error was encountered.

This error occurs only when the Action 'Adding "AI_SQLScript" table rows' is beeing performed.

I'am able to build the setup after several attemps. But where does this problem come from? On my old computer, I did not have that problem.

Best regards,
Tobias

Hi Tobias,

Our application creates that file and uses it during build from the temporary location. I am not sure why the file isn't available everytime on that machine.

Can you please check for any antivirus or such software that may interact with that file upon build on that machine? Also, can you try building using another user account?
If the above don't prove conclusive, I recommend you try to build on another machine.

All the best,
Mihai

I didn't expect my antivirus software could be the culprit. We are using Kaspersky, and after deactivating the software, I was able to build the setup without any problems.
Either way I have to deactivate Kaspersky or find a way to configurate it in a way, so that it does not causing any trouble.

Is there a way to tell AI where the tmp-files should be created?

Thanks so far,
Tobias

Unfortunately this is beyond our reach, you will have to contact Kaspersky support on this.

I'm afraid not, temporary files are created in the Temporary folder.

All the best,

Hello Mihai,

in the end it was, as usual, more simple than it looked like.
I just had to add AI to the trusted applications.

Thanks,
Tobias
