Change Pre requistes / Bootstrapper Install Location

Hi,
I am using a Feature Based Prerequisites to install some mandatory packages. I am using the PrerequisteSelector from the toolbox to Create a Custom dialog and placed this selector in the Dialog. But I have having trouble starting the Prerequisite Installation process when I hit the next button in my dialog.

1. When I use Feature Based Prerequisites when does the prerequisites installer start?
2. Can I trigger the prerequisite installer with a DoAction on the Next Button in my Dialog?

Hi Vince,

1. The prerequisite installation does not start when you leave the dialog where you select the prerequisites to be installed.
They will be installed together with the files from the application, after you press "Install" button and the elevation occurs.

2. No, this is handled automatically by the installer.

My problem is that I need to install the prerequisites in the middle of my installer. Since I have some custom scripts that require the prerequistes to be installed first.

1. Is there a way to install the prerequistes in the middle of the installer, meaning not in the beginning and not when you hit the Install button. I will have a custom dialog in the middle of my installation sequence, where I will need the prerequisites to run.

Since I have some custom scripts that require the prerequistes to be installed first.

If you need your prerequisites to be installed first, you can set them as pre-install prerequisites. They are installed by an EXE bootstrapper before your MSI is launched.
