Advanced Installer 6.4 - Release Notes

On June 16th, 2008 Caphyon LLC is proud to announce the release of Advanced Installer 6.4, in Freeware, Professional, For Java and Enterprise editions. This release is available for download on the Advanced Installer website.

The 6.4 version adds full transaction support for SQL scripts and the ability to automatically discover and display Microsoft SQL Servers available on the network at install time.

Collaboration of multiple developers on different computers is even easier with the addition of custom, per-machine configurable project path Variables. A friendly wizard automates the conversion process.

Full 64-bit support for Java programs is provided with a native 64-bit version of the Java launcher which can load your application into a discovered (or optionally bundled) 64-bit Java Runtime Environment.

Bug fixes

• Could not register AI on user accounts with non-ASCII characters in name
• File name edit controls from "File Properties" page did not support Unicode characters
• Launch condition for minimum WI version couldn't be removed after adding it
• Properties set to values containing "//" could not be passed to bootstrapper
• Crashes building a patch which replaces another patch
• Crash in "Custom Actions" view when loading InstallUISequence entries that contain dialog actions
• Target name of the Predefined Folders can be edited in the Edit Folder Dialog
• Error when placing the Java bundle into an existing folder
• Updater wizard not automatically closed on successful installation on Windows Vista
• When using Advanced Media, files stored outside were not copied with localized names at build time
• Issue with Windows Firewall configuration tool
• Java View not updated when importing Eclipse workspace into existing project
