A package can be configured to behave in more then one way when performing an Upgrade. Below are presented the possible ways of configuring the upgrade behaviour of an installation package and the associated standard actions that are executed when each type of package runs:
- Automatically upgrade older product versions, uninstall old version first and then install new version
- Automatically upgrade older product versions, install new version first and then uninstall old version
- Allow side by side installs of different product versions
The upgrade behaviour can be easily configured from the Upgrades Page.
An Upgrade operation is performed
only if an older version of the product is found on the
machine. If this is not the case and no older version of the product is
found then a cleanInstall operation will
be performed instead.
