Re: Error 1315. Unable to write to the specified folder(shared folder) when Windows 10 kb4551762 is installed

Follow-up: One of my customers changed the path in the registry to the folder which couldn't be removed (error 1315), and then the deinstallation worked. The installation was created with AI 13.7. The same customer then immediatedly installed an install program created with AI 16.9 in the same manne...

Re: Error 1315. Unable to write to the specified folder(shared folder) when Windows 10 kb4551762 is installed

Hello,

I have two customers, each with many (40) workstations where my product is installed, who still have this problem.

Using cmd with admin priviledges to install/uninstall doesn't solve the problem.

Is there any new info on a correction for this error?

Thank you,

Conditionally change the Domain field value in the Permissions dialog

Helle Sorin, You wrote: Please ensure that when setting the folder permission, the "Domain" field from the "Permission" dialog is empty. This field should be set only if the target comupter is enrolled into a domain. I do have a situation where I need to set the "Domain"...

Do not register ActiveX Com Component

Hi AI Team, I have a question concerning ActiveX Component registration: There is a older version of a MS ActiveX component in a Merge file (supplied by MS) which I am installing into the Windows\SysWOW64 folder and have marked it to Auto Register. I need to use this older version, because a newer v...

Re: Permission allocation on non-English Windows versions

Last week I had a customer with a German system, who towards the end of the installation also received this error (Error 1609 and SID system error 1332) , where permissions folders were trying to be set set for users and groups " Administrator " and " Everyone ". I noticed that i...

Re: Suggestions for predefined prerequisites

Hi, I would be helpful if you could add the Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 (Microsoft Office 12 Access Database Engine Object Library) )to the prerequisites? The download for 64/32 bit Service Pack 1 is located at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2460011 You have the Access 2010 Runtime...

MSIEXEC: determining MSI installation parameters used

Hi,

Is there a MSI property which can be referenced in the AIP, which shows if the Quiet or Passive installation parameters were used?

Thank you!

Re: Isolating a component

Hi Daniel, it also works if there is already the same OCX and Version number installed on the system. But, I will for now just manually install this on a case-by-case basis, as the problem arises, because nothing else needs to be done except adding the manifest file and OCX in a sub folder. From hun...

Re: Isolating a component

Hi Daniel, Just got done testing a solution, and saw your post. But I still need your help with something (at the bottom in bold) I created a manifest with help from another person on that mentioned site. The OCX gets installed, and not registered, in a sub folder of the application is located, whic...

Re: Isolating a component

Hello Daniel, Thank you for your reply. Concerning File Versioning rules: This is an older Microsoft Com ocx for VB6 and I am concerned with the registry, and things getting messed up if just simply installed it in the Application folder. Problem is, MS will not be updating this OCX any longer (last...

Isolating a component

I have an older ocx version in a downloaded MS Merge Module. The Merge Module is added to the AI package. There is a newer version of the ocx from MS, but I need the older version for now.. This 32 bit ocx is normally installed into the SysWOW64 folder. So, with that said, I want to install the olde...

Hi Clint, I'm afraid YouTube does not allow us to change the video once it is uploaded. However, it allows you to slow it down while watching it, using the speed configuration support from YouTube, as shown in the screenshot. Thanks for the feedback,we'll try to make sure we will not repeat this mi...
