Setup wrongly claims firefox uses some installation files

Hello, we have an issue that on some machines during installation the setup shows the FileInUse dialog, which claims that some files that should be updated/installed are currently blocked/ in use by firefox. We do not have any explanation for this behaviour as we’re simply installing a desktop appli...

Re: VSTO 2010 runtime for 32/64 bit single installer ?

Hi, I’m having exactly the same problem with the 32/64Bit Installation of the office runtime. I’ve tried to perform your solution here with seems to work for Advanced Installer version <= 8.6. Unfortunately we had to update our AdvancedInstaller projects to Version 9.1 in order to handle some other ...

Re: Setup process stays alive after cancelling setup

Hello, Isn’t there a possibility to keep the UI alive, until the setup has finished with deleting the extracted files? The problem is not the time the setup.exe needs the time to delete the files, but that the user couldn’t see that the setup.exe is just working. A dialog like “temporary file are re...

Re: Setup process stays alive after cancelling setup

I've tried the option "Do not delete extracted MSI and CAB files", but unfortunately the behavior doesn't change. The setup is still alive for minutes after the "The Installation has been canceled" dialog.
Do you have any other suggestions?

Manuel change of product codes creates multiple softwarelist

Hi, We are using the following version number schema: 9.28.1111.20 From build to build we only change the fourth number (for example form 9.28.1111.20 to 9.28.1111.21). Unfortunately advanced installer doesn’t create new product code for such version switch (consequently or clients aren’t able to up...

Problems with temporary scripts on first install

Hi I’m using temporary batch and vbs scripts for copying files, as you have suggested in http://www.advancedinstaller.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=11380 . Unfortunately this approach doesn’t work because of an advanced installer problem with temporary files. On first installation of a new vers...
