Single installer for x86/x64/ARM64

My goal is for a customer to be able to click the download link on our website for "Windows" and the installer works, regardless of the CPU architecture of the PC they are running. ie the same way Mac works - the customer clicks the link for the Mac download and it works regardless of the ...

Powershell download and install app-store app

Hi, I am looking to have AI trigger the download and install of an app-store app. Wondering if there is a way through powershell to do this (AI can invoke powershell). Not looking to side-load the app. Looking to trigger the download and install of the app as if the user went to the store and clicke...

Re: Blocking install on XP

Hello Nick, I've tested your scenario, but I cannot reproduce the behavior. Can you attach a sample project which reproduce the behavior so we can investigate it? Also, please keep in mind that if your project contains pre-install prerequisite packages, then you can enable the "Check predefine...

Blocking install on XP

Hi,

We need to block installation of our application on XP (XP is no longer supported by the new MS tools).

Under Launch Conditions, Supported Operating systems I have unticked everything older than visa, both 32 and 64-bit, however the installer still installs on XP.

Taskbar pinning lost after upgrade

Hi,

We are seeing a problem where, if the user pins one of our applications to the task bar, this pinning is lost when the user installs a newer version of our software.

Is there something we can do to help avoid this issue and reduce customer complains?

Thanks,

Nick

Repair asks for MSI

Hi,

When going through the Control Panel and selecting Repair it asks for a MSI file.

(AI 9.6.1)

We ship an EXE file (not a MSI file) which make it confusing to customers.

Is there something we can do it support Repair?

Re: Disable modify

Hi, 1) The modify button is at the top... making it non-visible will leave a hole and require more major modification of this page. 2) This is a new problem in AI - Version 6.7.1 (the version we used before upgrading to 8.x) automatically hid the Modify button when the Disable Modify option was chec...

Disable modify

Hi, I ticked "Disable Modify" under Product Details and this hid the Modify button from within Windows Add/Remove programs. However, if I run the installer again the Modify option is displayed in the installer menu... What is the recommended way to disable the Modify option from within the...

Re: Selecting profiles when configuring Firewall

Hi, Adding another voice to this request (ability to add Firewall rules to different firewall profiles). The inability to add the needed firewall rules is the 2nd most common reason we get trouble tickets. Do you have a rough ETA on when a version of AI will be released with this feature? Thanks, Nick

Scheduled taks - "run task as soon as possible after missed"

Hi,

When AI creates a scheduled task the "Run task as soon as possible after a scheduled start is missed" option for the task is not enabled.

How can I get this option enabled?

Without this option my daily mid-night task never gets run if the user turns their computer off at night.

Re: Updater causing repeated downloads

Hi, The updater you provided in your last post works - it downloads the AIU file once and doesn't download the EXE unless an upgrade is available and the user approves. If an new 6.4.x release will be available in the next few weeks we will wait for the release. If not, I will investigate how to use...

Re: Updater causing repeated downloads

- indeed the AIU file is downloaded three times; this happens because when the Updater checks for updates, it queries the server This is a minor, but once ought to be enough :) It adds load to our server and distorts the server stats. - it doesn't download any other files, even if updates are avail...
