Re: Launching App after chained msi installers complete

Hi, A workaround solution would be NOT to configure your prerequisites as chained packages. When using the chained packages feature the chained setup installation is fully handled by Windows Installer and this is done asynchronously of the main setup install. This is why your application is launched...

Re: How to customize Advanced Installer prerequisites?

Hi, Just a short addendum to your original question: how to configure in the same installer prerequisite items per build. Starting with newer versions of Advanced Installer this could be easily accomplished and configured. All you have to do is to create multiple builds in "Builds" page of...

Re: Multiple shortcuts with same name and location

Hi Johannes, Indeed your scenario is valid and so your requirement. Unfortunately we run the related validation (same shortcut name in the same shortcut folder location) due to Windows Installer validation rules. Also, I think we never thought to this scenario. However we do have a workaround soluti...

Handling Azure Trusted Signing in non-interactive automated build processes

Hi, When you want to make use of our Azure Trusted Signing support to sign your setup projects you will notice that there are 2 requirements you need to fulfill: A. .NET 6.0 Runtime must be installed on the machine where your Advanced Installer setup project is built B. Your Azure account login that...

Re: YubiKey not asking for PW

Hi and welcome to our forums, I have tested the scenario but I cannot replicate the behavior. Can you please tell us what version of Advanced Installer are you currently using? Also, can you please try removing your certificate from your Yubikey USB dongle, then removing it from your Windows machine...

Re: Digital Signing Fails all of a sudden

Hi Alex, We were able to replicate sporadically the same Key Vault signing error on our side too. Most likely the signing error is caused by the Microsoft's Azure Key Vault servers that seems to be unresponsiveness sometimes. We worked on an improvement (we retry the Key Vault signing several times ...

Re: Exception from external process

Hi, I am afraid I really cannot say what exactly goes wrong when your application is packaged into an MSIX. You ca either try to debug your MSIX packaged app code or you can try to run our “TraceApp” feature in Advanced Installer (available only in the Architect edition). If you do now own an Archit...

Re: Error while setup tries to configure IIS

Hi Zsolt, Looking over your sent log file it seems there is a problem with the creation of the web application pool. Can you please send us the .aip (project file) by email at support at advancedinstaller dot com so we can investigate its settings and run a few tests on our side too? All the best, D...

Re: "Call method from .NET assembly" CAs on 32/64 bit platform

Hi, I can confirm you the workaround solution you were thinking of is the correct one. And this is just because our built-in "Call method from .Net assembly custom action" type does not support targeting both architectures ("Any CPU') of .NET Runtime at once. It can either target the ...

Handle .NET assembly custom action built to target Any CPU architecture of .Net Runtime

Hi, Let's assume you have built a .Net assembly custom action DLL that can be ran by both architectures of .NET Runtime (Any CPU build configuration). screen1.jpg Now you may want the above custom action code be executed at install time by your setup package regardless the .NET Runtime architecture ...
