Re: Install continuing to main package install while prerequisites are being installed

Hello, This scenario might a bit confusing, especially with the message you are receiving. Although it looks like the message appears because the prerequisite is installing at the same time with the main package, this most likely is not the case. Could you please try either: - testing this on a clea...

Re: Updater Problem

Hello, From what I can see in the INI file, the MSI is meant to be run with the /qn parameter, which means completely silent. It's quite strange that the UI still appears in that case. If possible, could you please forward me the following resources: - a copy of the AIP file - a copy of the Updates ...

Re: Set recovery configuration for service installed from MSIX ?

Hello, Unfortunately, this might not be supported just yet. From the first article you linked: Screenshot_210.png Additionally, I saw some more articles from the MSIX forums which also leads to me thinking that this might not be supported. Recovery option in Windows Service - MSIX This feature reque...

Re: Analytics not showing all properties

Hello Anders, I can't say for sure why this is happening. If possible, could you please send me a copy of your AIP file by email at support at advancedinstaller dot com so I can further investigate this? Also, please give me some more details about the properties that are wrongly sent (e.g. are the ...

Re: Windows USB vendor driver Installer package does not detect existing installation and allows re-installation

Hello David, In order for a setup to enter Maintenance, a few conditions must be met: - the UpgradeCode must be the same - the ProductCode must be the same - the PackageCode must also be the same You can read more about each here: Product Identification (ProductCode and UpgradeCode) So basically you...

Re: Command line parameters to change updates.txt path

Hello Bogdan and welcome to our forums,

I've done some tests and it looks like we do not have this support.

I will add this on our TODO list of improvements of our PowerShell automation support and this should be available in a future version of Advanced Installer.

Best regards,
Catalin

Re: Display an icon

Hello Hans, Please have a look over the following article written by my colleague Liviu: Validate user input and display specific icon/error message which should cover exactly what you need. In addition, there is also a sample project at the end that you can look at for any directions, if needed. Be...

Re: Advanced Installer requires that the Product Code and Upgrade Code GUIDs be changed?

Hello, @cogs33, Thank you for your contributions here. @chieffannulet, Unlike InnoSetup and SetupBuilder, Advanced Installer is built upon the WIndows Installer technology (created by Microsoft). Between different versions of your setup: - the UpgradeCode must stay the same - the ProductCode must be...

Hello,
it opens the application on the screen.
Could you please give me some more details here?

By application, do you mean your installation package UI appears?

Re: Shared function in PowerShell scripts

Hello Hans, You are always welcome! If I understand modules right, a module must exist as a disk file before it is used. This is indeed true. The module would have to be imported in the current PowerShell session. But in my situation, the script runs during the UI phase of the installer, so the inst...
