Hi. I've been searching the web to find if both RepackagerCLI.exe and AdvancedInstaller.com (when Building MSI) programs create a log file when running silently. When you build a MSI (not sure if happens when repackaging) via the user interface you get a window where the actions are logged. I'd like...
In the same subject: Does "Repackager.exe" write to a log file when it's run? I can see that "Repackager.exe" process shows up for a second and then goes away. Maybe it's complaining about any syntax error.

Hi. We want to repackage several already-silent setup packages and convert them to MSI. We started trying to run the Repackager.exe command line with one package to figure out how AI works, using the information described at https://www.advancedinstaller.com/user-guide/repackager-cli.html Unfortunat...

AdvancedInstaller.com supports the command "/AddFiles". However, if use this sample command line: AdvancedInstaller.com /edit File.MST /AddF...
Thanks Daniel, I'll check that out. I concluded that files with different size are ignored by checking files after installation and also looking at the AI log shown after hitting F7 (building). About the " without uninstalling " question, understood. In fact I read that somewhere else, however it wa...
Well, since I don't think the AI team will release a version solving this issue in a timely fashion, I'm posting here the way to create manually a MSP file using the tools provided in the Microsoft SDK. This way files with differences between versions will be included in the MSP Patch. Sample instru...
Hi. When generating an MSP file by comparing two MSI files (older-newer version) of an application, I found out that only newly added files in the newer MSI are included in the MSP file. Files with the same name but different size are ignored, causing the patch (MSP) to be useless. What am I doing w...
