The new App Installer theme released in 20.4 does not support changing the logo from the Advanced Installer logo to a custom logo.

Re: One Font Per Component

As a note, the only way I see doing this, which is very painful, is to manipulate the AIP file to add the components and assign the fonts to each of the created components. In Installshield, I could create components and then add a file to it and then mark as a key file. With AI, it doesn't appear t...

Re: One Font Per Component

That did not work and as a note - I don't want a new feature.

Following your instructions - all it did was move the fonts, including the font I did not select to a new component with only 1 key component and the rest there in the same component.

Re: One Font Per Component

This seems more cumbersome than the past moving of a component. However, this did not work. The fonts are in the Fonts folder for Windows. While I can add a font to the list, when I select the font from the list and say move to a new component, I receive an error "Cannot move these resources in...

One Font Per Component

To assure that each font is being installed and registered, in my prior installshield projects, I would move each font to a separate component and mark as a key file. Using the 20.0 release of Advanced Installer, I can select a font, go to the component, but I can not move all the fonts I use to a s...

Re: Updater - Connection to the server cannot be established

I just received response this morning and I responded.

On a customer's Windows 2008 Server (original, not R2), their Chrome could access the update.txt file over SSL. Their Internet Explorer could not. No option for TLS 1.1 or 1.2.

Updater - Connection to the server cannot be established

For a small percentage of my customers, they are getting a Connection to the server cannot be established with the updater. The OS's have been Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2012, Windows 7, Windows 10 and Windows 11. We can not replicate. For the computer literate customers, they verified that...

SignTool Errors

I use Help and Manual 8 to generate eWriter help files which are EXE's. I codesign them before being built with Advanced Installer, but I have the settings in AI to to enable signing and those eWriter files are in the list to sign. Everything works as expected. I did an update to Help and Manual and...

Force added files to separate components

I'd like to see a project option and/or overall preference that puts files in separate components. In my situation, I prefer to have every file have its own component so it will always update the customer's machine when making changes to any file, such as text files and such. When a component has se...

Re: /DeleteUpdate -all fails to work

Apologies. I moved my projects to another machine and when I was opening the project, I was looking at the old location, not new.

It is working correctly.

Next, would be awesome for the next update to allow command line updating/enabling of the notifications section of the updates.

/DeleteUpdate -all fails to work

Ran the command /DeleteUpdate -all per the documentation here at https://www.advancedinstaller.com/user- ... pdate.html and it does not clear all the updates in the file.
There was mention in 19.3 that this feature was added, however it is not working.

Change Updater Notification settings by command line

Need a command line option that allows updating the notifications title, text, date to expire notifications and link and link button text via command line in an update project.

/DeleteALLUpdates option

Since I use the same installer file and dont version them, I want my customers ONLY to see the most recent update available, as having a choice of picking updates from the list is confusing and wouldn't matter. I deleted all the updates in the update project except the most recent. I have to keep tr...

Manual Check for Updates - Only show latest

When I do a manual launch of the updater, it presents options to choose past updates. We do not store versioned installers, so the same installer that is there is always the latest. The list will confuse our customers, plus potentially give errors because the installer's MD5 may not match if they do...

Re: CA being called during upgrade when it shouldn't

Confirming that checking Regular Uninstall without a condition properly did not bring up the custom action when installing an update. And confirmed that it did when selecting to uninstall the application.
