I am experiencing the similar problem. I am using AI 8.0.2.
I have sent you the sample .aip file to reproduce the issue.

Yes. I enabled the [Single Instance] checkbox under Application Type.
But it doesn't work.

This issue is really annoying. Some of our customers are also having this issue. We don't know about new customers trying demo version of our product.
We used Advanced Installer version 7.5.

Is this issue fixed in version 7.5 ?
