Re: repackager output is too small

Hi, Welcome to our forums and thanks for purchasing Advanced Installer. What your experiencing is probably because your capture filters are set to exclude the location where your application is installed. If you are using our default filters, which are read-only, you can duplicate and customize them...

Re: How to embed files and then extract them to a certain folder

Hi,

If you need the files to be placed in that folder only during the installation, and then removed, you can use our support for temporary files.

Re: Create 64bit reg keys in free version?

In the free version you can go to Registry page, double click the registry value and select the option "Mark component as 64-bit". This option is the equivalent of the option from Organization page, which is not available in the free version. The components are not set automatically to 64-bit becaus...

Re: Installed Java Service running but not visible within MMC Services snap-in

Hi, In the project file you sent us over email I noticed you use two methods to control (stop) the service: 1) first you have all options "Start", "Stop" "Delete" selected for the Install stage. This is correct as our docs mention. 2) you are also using a custom action StopWebSIService that stops it...

Re: Installed Java Service running but not visible within MMC Services snap-in

Could you give us an AIP file that reproduces this behavior and a verbose log of the installation on one of those machines?

This can help us take a closer look at what is happening.

Re: Basic Desktop Bridge Question.

Hi, First, you need to create the MSI/EXE installer for the application, as I assume you still want to have it deployed as a desktop application for some users. For this you have multiple tutorials: http://www.advancedinstaller.com/user-guide/tutorials-qa.html After you have create this installer go...

Re: How to build Installers from Installations that require a reboot?

Hi, I assume you are referring to repackaging in VMs? If yes, we fixed this, so that the repackager resumes its operation after reboot in version 13.0. Have you tried this version, or a newer one? If you are repackaging on the same machine where AI is installed, not using our repack in VM builtin su...

Re: Problem while doing installation by msi.

Hi,

This most likely is related to your machine and the way it recognizes certificates.

As you can see from this Google search, the first result from Microsoft and the second from Wix Toolset website, and many other similar situations on other applications.

Re: Installed Java Service running but not visible within MMC Services snap-in

Hi,

This seems to be a problem with the machine on which you are testing the package. Have you seen the same behavior on multiple machines? We recommend VMs for testing.

Hi, The AppX package you generated contains the correct schema and manifest entries, required for Win32 (not UWP) applications packaged this way.
