Re: Quick Patch Creation

Hello R. Mueller, Unfortunately, I am afraid that I am not aware of any workaround which you can use to automate / speedup your process with either Advanced Installer or any other free tool such as Orca. The only solution I can give you at this moment is to use our predefined support for creating pa...

Re: VBScript custom action in the progress dialog?

Hello, After talking with the development team, it seems that, unfortunately, what you want to achieve is not possible. This happens because the "ProgressPrereqDlg" is always displayed, even if no prerequisites are selected from the previous dialog ( "PrerequisiteDlg" ). As a workaround, you can add...

Re: How to prevent a feature to be installed on Full-Install

Hello Eric, Well, first of all, let me explain how Windows Installer evaluates the installation of a feature. Every feature has an Install Level flag and the main package has a property called INSTALLLEVEL . A feature is eligible for installation if its Install Level flag has a value smaller or equa...

Re: Advanced Installer not installing IIS

Hello Kevin and welcome to our forums, When a new website is created in the Advanced Installer project, an IIS launch condition is automatically enabled in the Software tab from the Launch Condition page. Since you made sure that IIS is enabled on the target machine, via Windows Features, can you pl...

Re: Force reinstalling

Hello, In order to achieve what you want, all you have to do is to trigger a repair command. Here are two ways in which you can achieve that: 1) Go to Control Panel, click on your application and then click Repair . If the Repair button does not appear, you can click on the Change button and then se...

Re: Add event log installer to setup project.

Hello Bogdan and welcome to our forums, Thank you for your interest in Advanced Installer. Indeed, in order to achieve what you want, you could use a ".NET Installer Class action" custom action. For more details about this custom action, you can have a look at our ".NET Installer Class action" artic...

Re: Installing only attached database

Hello,

I have tried to reproduce your scenario, but everything worked just fine.

In order for me to further investigate, can you please send us the .aip (project file) and a "verbose log" by e-mail at support at advancedinstaller dot com so we can investigate its settings?

Re: Do anynoe help me?

Hello Leslie, How can I make my own "PROGRESSDLG"? Unfortunately, that is not possible, but you can try to customize the already existing "ProgressDlg" . I made my own status bar but the bar never loads, it stays still and my installation does not end. Is the status bar placed on the already existin...

Re: VBScript custom action in the progress dialog?

Hello, Indeed, I was able to reproduce this behavior. It seems like this is an issue of Advanced Installer in what regards the support for Init Events for the Pre-Install prerequisites dialog. A fix will be available in a future version of Advanced Installer, thank you for bringing this to our atten...

Re: Running command line (not patch) during installation

Hello, How can i run command line (not patch) during installation? You can achieve this by using a custom action. For example, you can save your script as a .BAT file, then add it as a temporary file and then use a "LaunchFile" custom action to launch the .BAT file. To add your .BAT file as a tempor...

Re: Quick selection tree

Hello Sunil, I am afraid I do not fully understand your scenario. Do you want to display the "DatabaseDlg" only when a feature is selected for install ? Also, when you deselect a feature from the quick selection tree, its default behavior is to be uninstalled. Can you please give me some more detail...
