Re: Importing MSI project throwing error

Hello Srujan, I am not quite sure I understand your scenario here. Are you saying you have created the project and then somehow lost the .AIP file? Anyway, in order for me to further investigate this, could you please forward me a download link for the MSI file you are trying to import by e-mail at ...

Re: How to register private assembly?

Hello, A private assembly is normally used by a single application, and is stored in the application's directory, or a sub-directory beneath. A shared assembly is normally stored in the Global Assembly Cache (GAC) , which is a repository of assemblies maintained by the .NET runtime. Shared assemblie...

Re: Error:there is a problem with this windows installer package

Hello, If you are getting the same error, then it might indeed be a custom action that is failing. If you do not have many custom actions in your project, then it might indeed be the VBS custom action failing. however I did not uncheck the uninstall and it is possible that it fails until now. Is the...

Re: Can I ship just an updated DLL to my App

Hello, However it detects an existing version of the app and ends the update without installing anything. Most likely, this is happening due to a wrong criteria configured in the "Update nstalled Detection Tab" . Please double check that and make sure criteria is correct. Best regards, Catalin

Re: Customize Application Installation

Hello and welcome to our forums,

In order to achieve that, you can use our predefined "Launch File" custom action.

This custom action has a field - "Command Line" - where you can specify command line parameters that will be passed to the target file.

Hope this helps!

Re: Installation of bootstrapper using command line

Hello Balaji, Is there any other alternative way to display error message on command line? Instead can we achieve it through some scripting or custom actions? I can not say for sure that this is not possible. However, I am not aware of any way to achieve this. From your script, you should somehow ge...

Hello, Could you please try to re-attach the screenshot highlighting this issue to the thread? It looks like you forgot to attach it. Additionally, if possible, could you please give me a step-by-step test-case which I can use in order to reproduce this issue? So far, I've not been able to do so. Be...

Re: New files added to folder with "Condition Files" doesn't inherit conditions

Hello, As a followup to my last thread: I've discussed this with the developer and we will add the requested column in a future version of Advanced Installer. However, an overlay is unfortunately not possible because we have already reached the system limit. Additionally, it is pretty hard to make a...

Hello, The way we receive the .NET Framework version is from the registry. Here is the key that we are looking for: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP\v4\Full\Release Could you please open registry editor, navigate to that key, take a screenshot and forward it to me? Re: Command line - Change pre-requisite min version / max version

Hello, I've done some digging and it seems that you are indeed right, we do not have CLI support to manipulate those two fields - Minimum and Maximum version fields from the "Display" section. I will add this on our TODO list of improvements and hopefully this will be available in a future version o...

Re: Hold the elevated privilege UAC as late as possible

Hello Justin, 1. Could you explain why checked the "Run as administrator" option in the "Install Parameters" page will change the build file from .msi to .exe The reason behind this is the fact that an MSI file does not have the "Run as administrator" option, by default, as an EXE does. In order to ...
