Re: Installer in VM

Hello, Could you please give me some more details about this: But its taking time to start the installer, around 10-30 secs. When you are launching your installer, it takes 10 to 30 seconds to spawn the first dialog (e.g. "PrepareDlg" or whatever your first dialog may be)? Best regards, Ca...

Re: Pressing "Enter" goes back a page

Hello Jacob,

You can achieve that using pretty much any theme.

Please have a look on our "How do I create a lightweight setup with a single dialog?" article for more information about this.

Re: Building for inclusion in installer

Hello Andy and welcome to our forums, As part of my installer build I am running scripts to generate help files etc that will be included in the installer. Is this possible with this tool, i.e. I want the tool to run a script to build a file for inclusion. Yes, it is possible to achieve that. For th...

Re: query result is not stored in property (Version 17.2)

Hello, Could you please let me know if your SQL Query is executed during the "Install Execution Stage" ? If that is the case, please note that properties that are set during the "Install Execution Stage" , i.e. the property that store the result of your query, are not propagated ...

Re: XML file merge by command line

Hello Valerio, You are indeed, right, our "External Diff for XML files" feature is not currently compatible with your command line support. I have added your request on our TODO list of improvements and hopefully this will be added in a future version of Advanced Installer. Best regards, C...

Re: License Validation on a Virtual Machine

Hello Francis, First of all, please accept my apologies for the delayed reply (this took more than expected to test). Unfortunately, I was not able to reproduce the behavior on my end (not even with your scenario). The only thing left that I can think of is that there is indeed a typo in the license...

Re: Pass an argument from Updates.txt file to app

Hello, I am not quite sure the configuration file will accept such arguments in its' content. What you can do, however, if I understand correctly your requirement, is to launch the Updater with the /justcheck argument and then send the return code to your .EXE. It will be up to your executable to in...

Re: Server side validation fail

Hello, If the key is already in the database, then the problem may be the fact that your script can not access the database on the server. The script must be able to receive the information sent by the installer, connect to the database, verify the information and issue a response. Assuming that GCP...

Re: How can i prevent an install if already installed ?

The UpgradeCode is a GUID representing a related set of products. A set of different versions of your application will have the same UpgradeCo...

Re: Is there any way to ignore updates.aiu timestamp and always download it?

Hello, Unfortunately, as for this moment, we do not offer a command line option that will ignore the timestamp of the updates.aiu file. I have, however, added this on our TODO list of improvements and hopefully this will be added in a future version of Advanced Installer. I will update this thread a...
