Re: Prerequisite Condition does not find Registry Path

Hi Mihai,

Yes, I can find the value with regedit. I can see the key ehn using the picker, but noth the values. Copying the path manually does not work. Evaluating returns FAILURE and the Installer does never find it.

By the way I attached the last picture properly as I could see it in the preview.

[solved] Prerequisite Condition does not find Registry Path

Hi, I have to mandatory install the "SQL Server Command Line Tools" as a prerequisite. But the registry key is not shown by the RegKey Picker and is never found either. The option "Use 64-bit locations when evaluating conditions on a 64-bit machine" does not make a change either. The desired value t...

Re: VBS Debugger: Cannot find msiexec.exe in runnnig documents

Hi Daniel, that was the solution. In fact I thought that the following text was not related to VBS inline scripts. At least I should just have tried it... my fault. Additionally, if you are trying to debug a .wsf file, make sure that the following registry key is set to 1: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software...

[solved] Custom Action on Rollback: How to copy files to appdir AFTER they are uninstalled

Hi Folks, so this is a difficult one. :) I have a custom roll back action that copies files to the [APPDIR]. As most of these files have the same name as the files beeing installed, the copied files from the rollback action will be deleted by the standard roll back actions. I would love to run my ro...

Re: Batch file error during installation

Hey Glenn,

you may pipe the output of your batch to a text file. Just add

Code: Select all

> myLog.txt
to the arguments of our custom action. This way you can see if it was executed and you have the possibility of debugging with echo.
Not very handy but it's the way I am working.

Cheers,

Angelo

[solved] VBS Debugger: Cannot find msiexec.exe in runnnig documents

Hi, I tried to install the VBscript debugger following your tutorial: http://www.advancedinstaller.com/user-guide/qa-debug-vbs-ca.html But i cannot find the msiexec.exe process in the running documents. I also realized that the debugger from http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=22...

Re: Can not remove "Display a specific dialog" Event

Hi Dan, your solution worked. For everyone else having this problem: There was a "DatabaseFile_Cond" condition associated with the "Display a specific dialog" event (No idea how I putted it there). By expanding the tree of my dialog I could delete this condition and with this I could delete the even...

Re: Checking for empty Foder on "FolderDlg"

Hi Dan, my Installation Path -> Validation is set to "Use native Windows Installer validation" and the "Verify and set the selected folder Path" event is published. But I am able to provide an empty path and go on with the next dialog... That's something I wanna avoid. I already sent my *.aip file t...

Re: File Browsing during installation

Hi Daniel, thanks for your help via mail. Just for everyone else having this problem... in my case there was a "DatabaseFile_Cond" in the condition of the "Execute custom action" which I did not use (no idea how it found it's way into there). So check your conditions if you have the same problem. Ch...

[solved] File Browsing during installation

Hey there,

I tried to follow the steps mentioned here http://www.advancedinstaller.com/user-g ... -file.html. But this seems to be outdated as I cannot find the variable [AI_OFN_FILEPATH] nor the event "doAction" (I assume it is "Execute custom action").
