Re: define an file association default open action

I have now edited the aip file and removed these strings.
This works, however this is not my preferred method.
So a proper solution would be fine.

Re: define an file association default open action

I cannot set a property there. I can only enter text.
I tried to use a translation.
But now always [EMPTY] is set in the registry.

define an file association default open action

I use the AI 13.3 When I add an file association with the verb 'open' always the string '&Open' is assigned to it: Advanced Installer 13.3000.png This would mean to do a lot of translations. But windows does this this translation itself when the string is emtpy (=HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\[myfileextensi...

Single exe with one msi inside

I used AI 7.1.3 for a long time to build a single exe with one msi inside. With this the msi could be extracted and used with software distribution systems. Now I use AI 13.3 (enterprise) Still building a single exe. But this exe does not contain a single msi file with all in it. It contains several...

Where to add a custom action when the installation has been aborted

My installation terminates all explorer.exe. The explorer.exe is started at the end of the installation. But when the installation fails or is aborted the explorer.exe is not started, and though the desktop is not shown. How to start the explorer.exe when the installation is aborted. I use AI 13.1 c...

Signing for Win 7 or newer causes the installation fail on Win XP

Hello I use the AI enterprise 13.1 I would like to sign with sha1 AND sha256, but AI states: "Digital signing for compatibility with legacy operating systems (Windows XP/Vista) requires Windows 8 or newer" I am using Win 7. But why that? I can sign my files with sha1 AND sha256 on Win 7 wi...

Re: How to terminate all instances of e.g. explorer.exe

Unfortunately on some machines still the same problem: the installation detects that the explorer has to be terminated and displays the accordingdialog to the user. But then only one instance is terminated and the installation is unable to proceed. I now created a custom action when the use presses ...

Re: How to terminate all instances of e.g. explorer.exe

It seems with AI 13, there is no need to terminate the explorer.exe.
Working fine so far.

Re: How to terminate all instances of e.g. explorer.exe

I have now updated to AI 13.1
But the checkbox 'Run under the LocalSystem account with full privileges (no impersonation)' is disabled?
No hint or explanation why?

Ok, I now checked 'When the system is being modified (deferred)' then it is enabled.

Eusebiu wrote:Did you checked the "When the system is being modified (deferred)" and the "Run under the LocalSystem account with full privileges (no impersonation)" options for the "Terminate Process" custom action?
It seems, all these options are not available in AI 7.1.3?

Re: How to terminate all instances of e.g. explorer.exe
