Re: File overwrite condition

Thank you Dan for your help. But I think we will need to come up with another solution. Could you just please additionally answer the question in my last post, what happens with the operation: 1. "Never overwrite existing file" and Condition = FALSE 2. "Never overwrite existing file&q...

Re: File overwrite condition

Hi Dan, Thank you. I didn't realize the AI_INSTALL_MODE = " Repair " property (didn't see it in the list either) But, I am still somewhat confused, though I tried to understand from the Help file prior to my post. What you suggested to use, means that the file will be preserved whan repair...

File overwrite condition

Hi, How do I condition a file in the file operations to always overwrite when installing or patching, but not when repairing? This is a non-versioned template file, which sometimes needs to be manually updated between installation versions without using a patch (I know: Bad practice). Thank you! Reg...

Re: SQL 2005 64 Error when building package

Hello Daniel, I don't know why I didn't think of it before: The the problem seems to be solved now: I started AI once using Admin priviledge,s and then opened and created a package. Now when I openen the AI project file in Explore, without first starting AI with Admin priviledges, and then build the...

SQL 2005 64 Error when building package

Hi, I am testing new features with the AI 11.0 version today. I had been using AI 9.8, and whenever I build a package the first time after AI was startet, I receive the errors in the attachments (if I remember correctly, it also happen the past few AI versions). If I build again without closing AI, ...

Re: Files and Folder Operations

I've tested, using AI 9.8, the last scenario and I replicated the behavior. This seems to be an old Advanced Installer issue. However, I wasn't able to replicate the behavior using our last version of Advanced Installer (11.0). So, can you open your installation project in Advanced Installer 11.0 a...

Re: Files and Folder Operations

Hello Daniel, clint: (it would be nice if on your Version History page, all update changes for all versions could be accessed on one page in extended view so when looking for a fix to a problem, the browsers search function could be used on everything at once). Daniel: Maybe we'll consider this impr...

Hi, (it would be nice if on your Version History page, all update changes for all versions could be accessed on one page in extended view so when looking for a fix to a problem, the browsers search function could be used on everything at once). I am still using AI 9.8 and looked through update bug l...

Side by Side installation and CR Merge Modules

Hi, I am currently using AI 9.8. My package is set as a normal non -side-by-side installation. In my installation package I have included the Crystal Reports 11.5 (XI R2) Runtime files using the recommended Merge files from SAP-Crystal Reports. I have been using these for years with no problems. I h...

Re: Windows 2003 installation and starting app as standard u

Thank you Dan for your response. I think it may be like you wrote: Security settings. I have a feeling, that some security settings or policies may have been changed. They use a server farm and have two W2003 servers, (along with W2008 servers), where the problem exists on both W2003, as they claim....

I do not know alot about installing on a TS, but here is problem a customer reports: 1. They had version #1 of my product installed on W2003 and W2008 and all worked 2. They installed then version #2, which removes version #1, on W2003 and W2008 (per machine from Admin account) 3. The application wo...
