Re: 10.2 failing to use digisign on web installer

Hello,

I'm not sure why you are encountering this behavior.

Can you please send us the .AIP (project file) to support at advancedinstaller dot com so we can investigate it?

Best regards,
Dan

Re: Patch creates 2 entries in programs & features

Hello, Please keep in mind this is the default behavior. Also, unfortunately there is no workaround. Selecting the “Override Windows Installer programs list entry” option, applied patches will no longer be displayed, the patch will be listed side by side. So, in order to achieve what you want you sh...

Re: Return codes

Hello Dietrich, Please keep in mind that the 1603 error code is a generic error value returned by the installation process. In order to see what fails during the installation project you should search for return values of the standard and custom actions of the installation process. When an action fa...

Re: Editing text file

Hello, In order to achieve that you can use a replace operation for your text file update. For example you can select your text update file (in our example I named it “db_csvPath.txt”) and in the “Replace” section you can set the " \ " in the “Find” label and " // " in the “Repla...

Re: Configuring IIS Express prerequisit using IIS tools

Hello,

Unfortunately, Advanced Installer use an API from Microsoft and it configures only the IIS installed with the Windows operating system. It can not make any changes to IIS Express.

Re: Updating only changed files

Hello,

In order to achieve what you want you can make a patch. A patch contains only the difference between two versions of the product.
Also, please keep in mind that in order to successfully create a patch you need to make sure that respect the “Patch Rules”.

Best regards,
Dan
