Re: Launch attached file issue

Hello Xiao,

Unfortunately, your sent files were rejected by our mail-service because the package contained a .exe file in it.

Can you please upload it on a web-service and send the link by e-mail at support at advancedinstaller dot com ?

Regards,
Catlain

Re: How can i do this please help?

Hello Habeo and welcome to our forums,

I'm afraid that the message in question is displayed by Windows Installer and cannot be customized from within Advanced Installer.

Re: i have a question about customize

Hello and welcome to our forums, In order to achieve what you want, you can go to "Dialogs" page from the "User Interface" group , add a "static text" on your dialog and after that, in the right pane ( "Properties" tab), go to "Text Style" and select...

Re: Windows installer has stoped working

Hello, Thank you for your follow up on this, but unfortunately the last post's details are still not enough to get a conclusion. Can you please send me the .aip (project file) and a "verbose log" of your installation by e-mail at support at advancedinstaller dot com ? Regards, Catalin

Re: Launch attached file issue

Hello Xiao, Can you please give me more details about your scenario? If you're allowed to, please send me the .aip (project file) and a "verbose log" of your installation by e-mail at support at advancedinstaller dot com . If you could try to isolate the behavior in a buildable sample (.ai...

Re: Automatic upgrade old version not working

Hello Thiago, I have reproduced your scenario and indeed, I have encountered the same behavior. First of all, please keep in mind that Windows Installer ignores the fourth field of the Product Version by default. In your case, version 18.6.0.2 is the same as the version 18.6.0.3. Even if the fourth ...

Re: Issues with installing Prerequisites

Hello and welcome to our forums, I have some issues when it comes to prerequisites. In case one is not installed properly, e.g. user pressed (accidentally) cancel when prompted to install, it seems the prerequisite is handled as if installed. In order to avoid this behavior, you can uncheck the &quo...

Re: Prerequisites - Post install setup files do not install

Hello Kiran, Our development team further investigated and it seems that Advanced Installer gets the file name and its extension by parsing the URL string. So, that's why your .EXE file was opened with Notepad, because the file that was downloaded from that URL was actually "software.aspx"...

Re: Prerequisites - Post install setup files do not install

Hi Kiran,

Unfortunately, I do not know a timeline for releasing this fix. It is on our TODO list with a high priority.

We will update this thread as soon as it will be available.

Thanks for your understanding!

Best regards,

Re: Create MSI with Bootstrap

Hello Srikanth, From what I can see, you have a problem during an "Upgrade" . An upgrade is essentially the removal of an older product, followed by the installation of a newer product. In case there are no previous versions installed, the setup will proceed with a normal installation. Aft...

Re: Help with prerequisites dialog

Hello and welcome to our forums, What you want to achieve is actually a default setting of Advanced Installer. "Pre-Install" prerequisites are displayed in the Boostrapper "PrerequisiteDlg" in case they are not installed on the target machine, otherwise the dialog will not be dis...
