Re: How to pass parameter to custom action

Hello,

In order to achieve this, you can use our predefined "Launch EXE with Working Directory" custom action. This custom action will allow you to select the working directory of your executable.

Hope this helps.

Re: Installation of SQL Server 2012 Express Silent Condition

Hello Diego, When "Não" is selected, simply do not install SQL. If that is the case, then you can proceed as it follows: - open your Advanced Installer project - go to "Dialogs" page - select the Radio Button Group control - when selecting it, please have a look on the right pane...

Re: upgrading service now shows two versions in programs and features

Hello Mike, I was finally able to manually replicate this behavior on my end. Long story short, this issue is happening because the MSI file is deleted before the installation. Basically, your MSI file is downloaded in the "Updates" folder, which is deleted when the older product is uninst...

Re: upgrading service now shows two versions in programs and features

Hello Mike,

I've performed the first test and I reproduced the issue.

There is currently no agent connected to it as I reverted the machine to perform some further test.

Will notify you with what I find.

Re: upgrading service now shows two versions in programs and features

Hello Mike,

No, I did not reinstall the Manager.

Since I have a VM with it already installed, I thought it is not needed to re-install it.

I will proceed in reinstalling it right now and will retest this scenario.

Best regards,

Re: Custom Install Paths and Major Upgrades

Hello, First of all, I would like to start by saying that I do not believe all the additional work is worth just for making the folder structure in the "Files and Folders" page be more intuitive. If the new developer of the project is confused by that, there are few ways of pointing him in...

Re: Drive Selection

Hello Phil, I've had an attempt at this, but i get mixed results, either the double quotes are before the drive letter or the entire string is wrapped in double quotes. Little bit confused. That's ok, we got this. In PowerShell, the double quotes character (") has a special meaning (also the si...

Re: Silent installation by passing parameters

Hello Srujan, now i am stuck at how to make sure the installation completed successful when i install silently. I am not quite sure I understand what you mean here. Could you please elaborate? If I understand correctly, you want to check the installation status (please correct me if I'm wrong). To d...

Re: Installation of SQL Server 2012 Express Silent Condition

Hello Diego and welcome to Advanced Installer, Could you please give me some more details about your scenario so I can better assist you? For instance, when "Sim" is selected, you want to install SQL Server silently, but what about "Nao" being selected - what you want to happen i...

Re: Change output path while upgrading 32 bit application to 64 bit

Hello Viral,

Thist most probably happens due to the "Use original installation path when upgrading" option from the "Upgrades" page.

Could you please remove that option and let me know if everything is working as expected?

Best regards,

Re: upgrading service now shows two versions in programs and features

Hello Mike, I've tried testing this just now and it seems there is a problem with the upgrade process, it never kicks in (the higher version is never downloaded). I have had a look over the website --> "Computers" and I could notice the AgentService is no longer added there (as it was with...

Re: Avoid "Windows protected your PC"?

Hello, Indeed, when you are running an installer downloaded from internet, you will get the SmartSceen prompt. The problem is, although you may have signed the installer, the SmartScreen does not recognize it as a signed application because of its reputation: SmartScreen® Application Reputation – Bu...

Re: Powershell commands for SetProperty?

Hello and welcome to Advanced Installer forums, As for this moment, our PowerShell Automation support is yet to be complete. As it is still under development, it does not offer the full support our CommandLine support offers (at least for now). With that being said, I am afraid that not everything y...
