Re: Installed Java Service running but not visible within MMC Services snap-in

Could you give us an AIP file that reproduces this behavior and a verbose log of the installation on one of those machines?

This can help us take a closer look at what is happening.

Re: Basic Desktop Bridge Question.

Hi, First, you need to create the MSI/EXE installer for the application, as I assume you still want to have it deployed as a desktop application for some users. For this you have multiple tutorials: http://www.advancedinstaller.com/user-guide/tutorials-qa.html After you have create this installer go...

Re: How to build Installers from Installations that require a reboot?

Hi, I assume you are referring to repackaging in VMs? If yes, we fixed this, so that the repackager resumes its operation after reboot in version 13.0. Have you tried this version, or a newer one? If you are repackaging on the same machine where AI is installed, not using our repack in VM builtin su...

Re: Problem while doing installation by msi.

Hi,

This most likely is related to your machine and the way it recognizes certificates.

As you can see from this Google search, the first result from Microsoft and the second from Wix Toolset website, and many other similar situations on other applications.

Re: Installed Java Service running but not visible within MMC Services snap-in

Hi,

This seems to be a problem with the machine on which you are testing the package. Have you seen the same behavior on multiple machines? We recommend VMs for testing.

Re: AppX file is no good for Microsoft Windows Store

Hi, The AppX package you generated contains the correct schema and manifest entries, required for Win32 (not UWP) applications packaged this way. Currently Microsoft states the following : Your app's installation experience is much smoother for your customers. You can deploy it to computers using si...

Re: Assign a Service to a Specific Feature

Hi,

The service is placed in the same component as its EXE file.

While selecting the service EXE file in Files and Folders page, press F8. This will take you to its component in Organization page, there just drag and drop the component
in the desired feature and you're all set.

Re: Silent install after first run

Hi, Yes, this is is possible if you are using our auto-updater to deploy the new versions. When you define a new version as update in the updater configuration file you can specify what command line arguments to be used. Be careful, if you it to run completely silent and you are installing per machi...

Re: How to read web.config from Files and Folders while installing

Hi Raghu,

Why do you need a custom action? You can read an XML fileusing our built-in support.

You can also update the contents of an XML file, using the XML Updates feature.

Re: Error 4140

Hi Aarthy and welcome to our forums, The condition is good for the new version installing, but you could have the SQL running from the old version, that gets uninstalled by the upgrade. Have you checked the options of the script defined in the first version? Is is set to also run on uninstall? If ye...
