Re: Creating logs of files successfully/unsuccessfully installed

Hi,

To do that generate a verbose log file and search for InstallFiles action in the created log file. For more details on logging options here is a How To on creating a log file with the options made available by Windows Installer.

Re: checking for office 2007 PIA

Hi,

You could try setting up the search without filling in the Minimum field from the Required Version group, just fill in the Criteria and Product Code fields.
I've tested the search with programs installed on my computer and it works fine.

Hi,

I'm not sure what you are referring to, could you please send us a screen shot with the values you've enumerated at support at advancedinstaller dot com.

Re: Search for a folder

Hi, If you tried testing the search after you've created it you must know that this will fail because the properties of the installer are being resolved at run time, not when you are developing the project in Advanced Installer. So, for the search to work properly you must build and run the MSI file...

Re: Install files in Program files and some in users home

Hi, Yes, you can install into the user's profile folder, here is a How To on this subject. My advice would be to install them into a subfolder of Application Data folder, this is common location for application files.
