I got a solution is add a registry to indicate build from Advanced installer to understand not build from Install shield.

How to know the update old version is build from Installshield

Hi,
I'm using new version build from AI to update old version which build from Installshield. How do I know this update is from installshield during installation?
I will take that as condition in custom action.
Do you have any idea about this? Thanks a lot.

Thanks for your kindly reply. I met a problem is that the old version is pinned to taskbar but after updating to new version the pinned link is unavailable.
Do you have some suggestions how to keep the pinned link available on new version? Thanks!!
