Re: Comparing Values

Hello, I don't know if I explained myself as good as I want. :( The XML to read will be installed as part of the application (and it's a pretty new application, so it will be first installation for every customer). Can the search operation search before the file is copied in the local disk? I'll put...

Re: Comparing Values

Hi,

I need to compare the user entry with my list before it is installed, because the result is used to change another xml of the application installed.

So, how can I put the values of a list in a single property?

Thanks in advance,
Arnau.

And, can this list be populated from an XML file (or txt, or any other format)?

Re: Comparing Values

Hi, I want to do something similar. I want to set a value for PROP1 depending on the value of PROP2 (that is introduced by the user). If PROP2 matches any of the values in my list "MY_LIST_PROP", then PROP1 will have the value "1"; if the value of PROP2 doesn't match any of the v...

Re: Not delete users

Ok, will do that. My question is: when the users will not be deleted when uninstalled? The customers have the x.y.z version, I'll make these changes for x.y.z+1. When the customers install the x.y.z+1 version, the users will be deleted because to uninstall the msi used is the one from the x.y.z vers...

Not delete users

Hello, My installation creates two users wich, for some unexcusable (and maybe a little embarassing) reason, have a very weak password. The password doesn't meet the security policies and the install fails. What we are doing now is to remove the server from the domain, disable the password security ...

Re: Checking the version of my product

I'm trying to do it, but it shows an error: "This is the upgrade code of this project, it is not necessary and incorrect to add it in this list. Packages that have this upgrade code will be upgraded automatically based on the settings made in this page." This means I have to change the upg...

Re: Checking the version of my product

So, If I understood this correctly, I can set a condition like that: PROP_1 = "something" AND MY_PROP So, If MY_PROP has some value it will be considered as "true" and if it has none it will be considered as a "false" to this purpose? So, if the installed version is pri...

Checking the version of my product

Hello, I need to check the version of my own product and if it's prior to x.y.z version then run an SQL script; but if the customer has a superior version than x.y.z the script must not be executed. How can I check the version of my own product installed on the target machine and compare to the actu...

Re: Detecting a service

Hi, No, i didn't try anything yet. The problem is: if the service is correctly started, it will stop correctly. But, if the service isn't started properly, or it's in "pending start", or "starting", it will not stop easily and it may be necessary to kill the task. Thanks anyway, ...

Re: Installation not completing

Hi, I have the same problem. The installation is extremely slow on Windows Server 2008 R1 (not on R2, neither on Windows 2003). I'm trying to digg on the Process Monitor data; but it's incomplete (the installation is too big and Process Monitor crashes before recording all data to a CSV file. Anyone...
