Re: setup ended prematurely because of an error

Hi Shlomi,

We have not found the problem because the user did not sent us the requested files to investigate them. Please send your project file and the verbose log of the installation to our support email address, so we can try to find why you encounter the problem.

Re: Hidden properties logged in plain text when passed as CustomActionData

Hi,

Indeed, the "MsiHiddenProperties" property is not displayed in the property picker, but you can just write it manually as in the image below.

I hope this helps.

Re: Upgrade fails when driver feature is used

Hi,

As per the email conversation, the problem appears because two drivers have the same destination folder which is not allowed. In order to fix this, the installation folder for one of those drivers needs to be changed.

Re: Database lost on upgrade

Hi, Indeed, if a true condition was set for that SQL script in the old version, it will be executed on the uninstall of that version. In this case, you can try to preserve the database by using one of the methods below: - add an SQL Query before the "Remove Resources" action group from the...

Re: Database lost on upgrade

Hi,

In order to skip an SQL Script execution during an uninstall, you can uncheck the "at uninstall" execution option for it.

Re: Database lost on upgrade

Hi and welcome to our forums.

Indeed, during an uninstall/upgrade, all the files installed by the old version are removed from the machine. Is your database removed by an SQL script or it is just a file that should be kept on the machine?

Re: *URGENT* Files are missing after installation

Hi Zsolt, Please keep in mind that during an upgrade, all the files installed by the old version are removed and the files contained by the new version are installed. So, keeping the new DLL files copied by the hotfix on the machine is not possible because they are uninstalled during the upgrade sin...

Re: Only Install Files if Folder Exists

Hi, A custom action is not necessary for this. Just create a property-based folder that points to the "C:\pgSQL" location (e.g. PGSQL_FOLDER) and move all the files into that folder. Then, go to the "Organization" page, select the feature containing all the resources, check the &...

Re: Persistent Product Name

Hi,

In order to achieve this, you can create a "[|ProductName]" folder under the "Application Folder" from the "Files and Folders" page and place all your files under that folder (see the image below).

Let me know if this helped.

Re: Only Install Files if Folder Exists

Hi,

Please see a similar scenario described in the "Setting APPDIR to dir on a drive which may not exist" thread.

Let me know if that helped.

Re: Still need help

Hi, I've looked over the files that you sent and I've noticed the following things: 1. In the Updates Configuration project, "Update Installed Detection" tab you set the "Do not try to detect if the update was installed" option which means that the updater will not check if an up...

Re: Upgrade feature

Hi,

Do you want to use for the new version the same installation path that was used for the old version? If so, please make sure that the "Use original installation path when upgrading" option from the "Upgrades" page of your project is selected.
