Re: MSI repair running on files with association

Hi,

This happens because your per-machine installer is using per-user locations (user profile folders or HKEY_CURRENT_USER). A per-machine installer should use only per-machine locations.

Re: Property values pass through VB Script

Hi,

I'm not sure why the option is disabled. Can you please send us the .AIP (project) file you are using to support at advancedinstaller dot com so we can take a look?

Re: Apache derby

Hi,

I'm afraid that Advanced Installer doesn't support Derby databases. The only way to work with them during an installation is by using custom actions.

Re: Temporary files available during uninstall

Hi, If you added it as a prerequisite, you can simply set its uninstall command line in the Setup Files tab. All paths should be relative to the main prerequisite setup file. You should also select the Packages tree item and enable the "Do not remove prerequisite files" option. This way th...

Re: setup crashes after upgrading to 9.4

Hi, Advanced Installer 9.4 has a wizard which allows you to set the EULA for each language. Just follow these steps: - remove your custom dictionary from Translations page - remove LicenseAgreementDlg from dialogs page - save your project - add LicenseAgreementDlg dialog - use the wizard to set the ...

Re: Minor localization issues

Hi Daniel, Can you tell me more about API you use to extract language name string, so I can test it independently? This is actually a bug in Advanced Installer and it will be fixed in a future version. Thank you for bringing it to our attention. About 'ActionText.Description.AI_DeleteLzma' string - ...

Re: Installer hangs on 'Searching for qualifying products'.

Hi,
Is that you need?
No. We need a verbose installation log. You can find a guide here: http://www.advancedinstaller.com/user-guide/qa-log.html
Also, please send us the .AIP (project) file you are using to build the package.

Re: Where are Launch Conditions and Prerequisites in sequenc

Hi, I'm not sure I understand what you need to do. Can you please give me more details? Also, is it true that AIP operates the same as InstallShield in that a Prerequisite is run by EXE/bootstrapper; Launch Condition is run by MSI/child contained in EXE? Not exactly. Advanced Installer supports prer...

Re: Update XML file in MergeModule

Hi,
As of v9.4 this is still not available, right?
No, it's not. Like Mihai mentioned, it will be included in the next release (version 9.5).

Re: Change And Customize The License Dialog (Trial.DLL)

Hi, You mean ..Advanced Installer 8.9\dictionaries\.. ?? Yes. Please note that you need to restart Advanced Installer and rebuild your project for the change to be applied. It would probably be better if advanced installer just got this feature added to the program instead of having to mess around w...

Re: Technical support url

Hi Carl,

Unfortunately this is controlled by Windows Installer and Windows, so there's not much you can do about it.

Cosmin
