Prerequisites Required

Hi,

We would like there to be the option of showing the user which global prerequisites are required and will be installed before they are installed and also if a re-start will be required (the check box to force a re-start). This would allow the user to continue or cancel the installation.

Currently when the installer is run the prerequisites are installed before the user has a choice to pause or stop the installation. This is an issue when these prerequisites force a re-start (Windows Installer for example) and the user hasn't been warned. It also keeps the user informed about what is installing.

Before we moved to Advanced Installer we used InstallAware and that provided this dialogue; we have been asked to return this functionality for our new installer.

This is already done by default. Perhaps you changed the bootstrapper UI level in the Software Prerequisites tab of the "Prerequisites" page. When the bootstrapper uses a full UI you can also show a custom information page and a license agreement before the prerequisites are presented.

I added this improvement on our TODO list and it will be available in a future version. Thank you for your suggestion.

Where do we edit the forms exposed by the full bootstrapper UI?

Hi Steve,

If you are referring to the Prerequisite Install Dialogs, I am afraid they are not customizable. However the main install dialogs are customizable through the Dialogs page in an Enterprise project.
