Updater FTP Option

Hello.

We currently use an HTTP site to host our updates and this has worked well for several years. However now that public resource needs to be closed and I would prefer to use FTP. It is simple, safe and secure but not allowed by your updater. It specified http only. Are there any plans to change this?

Starting with the 11.7 version of Advanced Installer, the Updater support FTP paths. Have you tried this and encountered another behaviour?

Hi Dan,

Yes, the lookup just fails. The UI accepts the URL (of course) but at runtime it just fails. The syntax I was using was:

ftp://www.softwareobjectives.com.au/Ano ... ftsman.msi

I have placed a file there (it is public) and in a regular browser the download occurs but the updater cannot see it.
